A Step-by-Step Guide to The Power Of Protein

We’re officially one week into our challenge and so we’re starting off the week with a biggie. Today’s topic...protein.

First things first, what’s protein and why is it important? Proteins are the building blocks of life contained in every cell of the human body and formed by a chain of amino acids. Each and every living person needs to incorporate protein in their diet to help the body repair cells and make new ones. Most people will find the appropriate amount of protein through a daily intake of amino acids found in animal sources such as meats, milk, fish, and eggs, or plant sources such as soy, beans, legumes, nut butters, and some grains (such as quinoa). (You do not need to eat animal products to get all the protein you need in your diet!)


But why am I talking about protein? Because even though we may think we’re getting enough protein in our diets, we may actually not be! Further, protein plays a key role in weight loss and maintenance by providing the body with energy and stamina to go through daily life and to support a health immune response.


Now before we start talking about doTERRA’s protein, let me just start by telling you that I know the struggle that comes with buying a new protein powder. My Favorite Way to Incorporate doTERRA’s protein into my daily routine:

> doTERRA’s Nut Butter Protein Bars

Ingredients :

1 cup natural cashew, almond, or peanut butter

½ cup honey

2 cups old-fashioned oats

1 cup almond flour

2 scoops dōTERRA Protein (vegan or whey works!)

¼ cup dairy-free white chocolate chips


Instructions :

1. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the peanut butter and honey until smooth.

2. Add the oats, flour, Vegan dōTERRA Protein, and chocolate chips to the mixture and mix until incorporated.

3. Spread the mixture onto a cutting board until at a 1-inch thickness.

4. Cut into 12 bars and enjoy!

5. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 14 days.
